Back to School Traditions
While we still have 3 weeks until our kids go back to school, most kindergarteners in our area start next week!! To all the mamas cherishing these last few days with their sweet 5 year olds: I’m sobbing right alongside you!
I’ve been rounding up allllll the back to school traditions this week! One tradition we’re starting will be to wrap up a back to school book for our kids to open the night before school starts. This year, I grabbed these two options: On the First Day of Kindergarten and KINDergarten: Where Kindness Matters Every Day. I love them both! Below you’ll find a list of 13 back to school traditions to make the transition from summer to school super special each year!
Have a 1 on 1 date with each child before school starts (back to school clothing shopping, school supplies shopping, haircuts, ice cream, etc.)
Grab a back to school gift for your child’s teacher
Celebrate the last day of summer!
Have a special dinner the night before school starts
Back to School Fairy – On the last day of summer or the first day of school, the back to school fairy brings your child new things for the school year
New pajamas for the night before the first day!
Wrap up a back to school themed book for your child to open at bedtime
Order or make your own “Ready Confetti”
Host a park play date or ice cream social with new classmates
Pray with your child for their teacher and classmates. Pray for a great year!
Choose a word and/or bible verse for the school year
Take a photo to document the first day of school
Have an ice cream date after the first day to talk all about it
I hope these ideas bring excitement and joy to your home as you prepare for the upcoming school year! Happy Back to School season, y’all!
