20 Favorite Board Books

There’s a shelf in the nursery that holds all of our baby-proof board books. I believe early literacy starts here. Sturdy books for tiny hands.

Our home library began with these books and continues to grow. These books are treasures of mine, and each one holds a memory. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? was the first book Mills memorized. He would “read” it to us over and over again. Saylor loved Ten Little Little Ladybugs, and James loved Goodnight Moon. The dramatic way we read “blub, blub, blub” in The Pout Pout Fish will forever be my favorite. I have memorized The Goodnight Train, Little Blue Truck, and many others. These books and stories and rhymes have laid the foundation for a love of reading. One of my favorite places to be is snuggled up, reading a book to one of my kids. Board books are perfect to add to your baby registry, gift to a new mom or gift to a child on their first birthday. Here’s a list of 20 of our favorite board books.
