Favorite Clothing Brands for Little Boys
To be honest, dressing my children isn’t something I particularly love. Purchasing the right sizes for different seasons, coordinating outfits, and watching our budget is a recipe for stress in my life. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought about just grabbing all of their things at Target and Walmart and calling it a day. Which, hear me say this, you can totally do! However, I’ve found that why the process of buying clothes for my boys isn’t super enjoyable, I have some fierce opinions and preferences on how they dress. I’m currently dressing my almost 6 year old, 3.5 year old, and 18 month old, and I hope sharing my favorite brands and places to shop helps make the process easier for you!
When shopping for my children, I shop local as often as possible! I recommend researching children’s boutiques in your area. Shopping local helps your community, and it’s just nice to touch and feel pieces before you buy them. Many of the brands below can be found in your local children’s boutiques or online at your favorite online children’s boutiques. And while I’ve listed many favorites, I always find a new brand or outfit I love when shopping in store! If you’re local to me, in Birmingham, AL, I love to shop at Dear Emmaline, The Lilipad, Once Upon a Time, and Sike’s Children’s.
Now let’s get to it! My favorite brands for little boys…
For the Babies
Kissy Kissy — I could solely dress my child in Kissy Kissy convertible gowns for the first 3 months. We love the footies, too!
Little English — So many great basics (like cardigans and bubbles) but also beautiful seasonal collections for everyday wear and special occasions. I love their options for babies, but they also carry precious options for older boys.
Magnolia Baby — A precious brand that you can find online or local. P.S. It runs small.
Squiggles by Charlie — This is a brand you might find in your local children’s boutiques or your favorite online boutiques. We love their bubbles and coveralls.
Gap Kids — I like to browse the Newborn Essentials category for simple and neutral onesies and pants. We also love the one-piece pajamas. Perfect pieces for around the house. Great quality and reasonable prices. Also, head over to Gap Factory!
Carter’s — We love the sleep & play pajamas and onesies, preferably with simple designs, for around the house and overnight sleep.
Little Me — I like to grab the footed one-pieces for sleep and around the house. As much as I love luxuriously soft and beautiful baby outfits, I love a practical option too.
For the Little Boys (baby - 4 years)
Dear Emmaline — This boutique carries many brands you know and love, but they also have their own line of custom tops and bottoms. It’s the perfect shop to grab custom embroidered and appliqué tops with coordinating bottoms. You can use the code OUTLAWFF for 10% off your first order.
Lazy Day Crafts, on Etsy — We love these shorts and bloomers for everyday play.
Luigi Kids — We love, love, love their appliqué and crochet tops. Find them local or at online boutiques. This shop has a great selection.
Shrimp & Grits Kids — We love their graphic tees, bubbles, and swimsuits.
Cecil and Lou — I love to grab bubbles from this brand for my boys when they’re 1-2 years old and diaper sets for my 2-3 year olds. They also carry precious swimsuits.
Eliza James Kids — A sister store to Cecil & Lou.
Lullaby Set — High quality pieces for everyday and special occasions.
PBJ Montgomery — This is a trunk show brand, but I’ve only personally grabbed their knit pieces. We love the knit pants and shorts.
Kind Kids Clothing — Easy everyday graphic tees.
Hannah Kate — This brand creates beautiful, classic, custom pieces. Find a trunk show hostess in your area. Expect a higher price and amazing quality.
Lime Green Clothing — This is another trunk show brand we love. I love creating simpler matching sets with this brand and browsing their knit collection.
Mustard and Ketchup Kids — Easy everyday graphic tees.
For the Older Boys (5 years+)
Vineyard Vines — We love their performance fabric tees and polos.
Properly Tied — A favorite “big boy” brand of ours. We love their t-shirts, mallard shorts, shoreline tops, and puffer jacket.
Peter Millar — We love the performance quarter zip and polos.
Cadets — The best shorts. We buy the Club and the Classic styles.
J. Bailey — The long sleeve polos and khaki pants are the perfect dressy winter uniform for little boys. We also love the short sleeve polos.
Target, All In Motion — We love the joggers.
Athletic Shorts — These, these, these, and these are our favorite. Simple, a good length, and a great price.
Athletic Tops — Simple Under Armour tees are my favorite, easy option. (As my oldest approached 7 years old, performance material tops & jerseys became staples in his wardrobe)
Pajamas
Gap Kids — I can always find cute prints that the boys love too!
Swimsuits
Bermies — My favorite “big boy” option. You can use the code FRANCIEOUTLAW for 15% off.
Cecil & Lou — We love their swim bloomers for babies until around age 2. Super sweet designs that come in bloomers and shorts, making them perfect for sibling matching.
Boden Kids — We were gifted a swimsuit from Boden, and I really love it. Typically bolder prints, if that’s your thing!
Shrimp & Grits Kids — Super sweet designs with family matches!
