Father’s Day 2024
Making homemade Father’s Day cards is such a special tradition in our home. This will be our fifth year creating a card for Matt, and I love the memories the cards hold. Each year is a different theme. So far we’ve done golfing, fishing, grilling, and gardening. Considering how much baseball we played this spring, we decided a baseball themed card would be a home run this year! My boys also love filling out the “All About My Dad” questionnaire each year!
To create this year’s card, first, I printed this template onto cardstock paper. Next, we used green watercolor paint to watercolor the entire “Happy Father’s Day” page. While that was drying, I used brown paint to print each boy’s handprint onto brown construction paper. I then cut out the handprints to resemble the shape of a glove. The second page of the template includes a page of circles. These circles will be the baseballs. I cut out one circle for each child. Once cut out, I used a thin red marker to draw curved lines like a baseball. I used red paint to press their fingerprints along the red marker lines. Once the baseball and glove were created for each child, I arranged them on the page to fit and glued down each piece (I like to use rubber cement). Finally, I wrote each child’s name and age with a fine tip sharpie next to their glove and ball. It’s super simple and turns out SO precious!
Happy Father’s Day to all of the All-Star dads!
