Easter Baskets for Babies & Preschoolers
When filling an Easter basket, I always include a book, a learning activity, summer shoes, water toys, and candy. I might also include pajamas, a bathing suit, a game, or a new toy. Having these categories in mind always makes it easier when I’m rounding up items for my boys’ Easter baskets each year. As I’m considering these categories, I also try to purchase items that reflect Spring and Summer. Whether it’s a book about oceans or toys for playing outside, I use our Easter basket as a way to get our home eager and ready for all of our Spring and Summer activities. This year, I’m buying for my almost 5 year old, 2 1/2 year old, and 7 month old. Below, I’ve rounded up ideas for babies, 5 year olds, and all the years in between!
Books
I have our favorite Easter books linked on my Amazon storefront. Here are a few other books we love that are perfect for an Easter basket:
Learning Activities
I love to put learning activities in my boys’ Easter baskets because it ensures I’m not just spending money on junk. Below I’ve linked activities that we love in our home, but you could also simply grab some coloring books and new crayons. Speaking of crayons, how fun are these glitter ones? I’m always an advocate for keeping learning in your home fun! This year, use your child’s Easter basket as a reason to replenish your art supplies and collect a few learning activities for your home!
Summer Shoes
These $17 water shoes from Target will be perfect for my boys to wear to the pool this summer. Last year, I gave the boys light up rain boots, and they still love them! Other great options for summer shoes are Natives, Floafers, Chus, Keds, and Sun Sans.
Water Toys
By the end of summer, we’ve lost most of our pool toys, so I always replenish our water guns, water balloons, dive toys, and splash balls at Easter. My boys are completely obsessed with water balloons. I’ve linked a small pack below, but I actually grabbed each of them a large pack from Costco. We plan to spend a lot of time at the pool this summer. My bigs will spend most of their time with goggles on their eyes, diving for toys! My youngest will sit on the steps with me, and I think he’s going to love the squirt animals and cups.
Other Ideas…
While the categories above keep me organized and intentional, there are endless options for your child’s Easter basket. If you’re buying for a baby, grab some teething toys, puffs, rattles, and a plush bunny. For your older child, bubbles, play doh, games, and chalk are perfect basket fillers. This year, my boys will have some Woah Dough in their baskets and the Let’s Go Fishin’ game! Below I’ve linked items for both boys and girls, babies and preschoolers.
I hope these ideas simplify your Easter basket shopping this year! Click the images to shop or use the ideas as inspiration! May your Easter morning be filled with joy as you celebrate our risen Savior!
