Beautycounter: My Honest Thoughts
In 2019, I decided to switch to better beauty. As I began my research, I was overwhelmed by my lack of knowledge and awareness of the chemicals in our home. I couldn’t dismiss what I had learned, so I immediately began swapping products in our home: cleaning supplies, detergent, skin-care, make-up, etc. My babies inspired my desire to make changes to my skin-care and make-up products. From pregnancy and nursing to hugs and kisses, my babies are directly impacted by these decisions. As I explored my options, Beautycounter was at the top of my list for skin-care and make-up. I loved their mission, knowledge, and was eager to try their most loved products. In short, it’s about getting clean beauty into the hands of all women. Our beauty routines should never be harmful, which is why Beautycounter shares a list of ingredients they will never use in their products. It’s comforting to know that anytime I reach for one of my Beautycounter products, I have the confidence in knowing it’s been tested for my safety (therefore, my babies too!).
Honestly, when I made the switch to better beauty, I was under the allusion that I would be sacrificing quality for safety. But goodness, I was wrong. I wholeheartedly love these products. However, I’ll always be super transparent. There are a handful of products I have tried, that I don’t 100% love. Yet, when I chat with other mamas, a product I wasn’t a fan of might be their favorite. And that’s okay! We are all unique, therefore, our skin-care and make-up needs will be unique as well.
Today I’m here to share my personal experience and favorite products. My Favorites
Below, I’m sharing my absolute favorites. These products are my tried and true favorites. The ones I recommend to my friends and family! *I update this list as products and packaging change.

My Skin Care Routine
Cleanse
AM - I usually shower in the morning and cleanse with the Counter+ Charcoal Cleansing Bar.
PM - First I remove my make-up with Micellar Cleansing Water and warm water. Next, I use the Counter+ Cleansing Balm. Massage the product into your skin, remove the product with a damp washcloth, then rinse your face with water. Finally, I double cleanse using the Countermatch Refresh Foaming Cleanser. Work the cleanser into a velvety foam in the palm of your hand. Then, massage onto damp skin and rinse.
Prep
AM/PM - I apply the Countertime Mineral Boost Hydrating Essence OR the All Bright Triple Acid AHA Toner. Pour a few drops into hands and gently press onto face and neck with fingertips.
Treat
AM - I apply either the Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum, the All Bright C Serum, or the Countercontrol All Over Acne Treatment. Massage gently onto face and neck with upward strokes.
PM - I apply the Overnight Resurfacing Peel 2-4 nights a week. Apply 1-2 pumps to clean face and neck, and leave on overnight. May tingle upon application. Allow product to fully absorb (3 to 5 minutes), then follow with a moisturizer. On the nights that I do not use the resurfacing peel, I treat with one of my AM serums.
Protect
AM - I moisturize with the Mighty Plump Ceramide Water Cream.
PM - I moisturize with the Mighty Plump Ceramide Water Cream, then I apply the Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream.
